Magsaysay is located in the southernmost part of Occidental Mindoro with the total land area of 29,675 hectares. It is characterized by rugged terrain with plain areas. Slope ranges from level to very steep slopping area. The highest point of elevation is at 543 feet above sea level. Eleven types of soil can be found in the locality dominant of which are Bolinao clay rough mountainous rough land, and San Miguel sandy loam. Numerous river system traverse the area and acquifer deposits are abundant. Mineral deposit comprise Limestone located in Barangay Purnaga. Areas susceptible to flooding hazard are Sitio Olima, Tilaga, and Cabag. Whereas highly elevated areas are prone to erosion.
